Our Christmas Tree Adventure

Sunday was spent getting our Christmas tree. We drove to Todd's Dad's house then to Mount Hough. We had lunch overlooking Crystal Lake and then walked around the top of the mountain looking for the perfect tree. Todd and I took longer than anyone else to find our tree because I was being picky but it was worth it. Here are some pics of our adventure:

On of the best days ever!!

So most people think that I am crazy but I am so excited. No Doubt is going to tour again!! And they are working on their second album. I have been waiting for this for so long, it is going to be so amazing. I have decided to start saving money now. I want the best seats I could possibly get. Last time at Gwen Stefani we had pretty good seats and I want better!! I can hardly contain myself. I feel like one of those crazy teenager people but I don't care. This music has gotten me through my life. Anyways...I hope everyone is having as wonderful day as I am.

Getting ready for the holidays

I've been wanting to decorate for Christmas for a while now and finally got some supplies to do so. We are getting our Christmas tree next weekend and I am super excited. Every time I go out to the store I find myself looking at ornaments for the tree. I was ready a girl I went to high school with's blog (Stevie) and she had these super cute letters that spelled out Ho Ho that she made so I decided to copy her. I also decided that Todd, Nugget, and I needed stockings. It all turned out like this...

Also Todd's old roommate Rodney came to town from Corning and we all went to 80s night. It was so much fun. Todd and I haven't been out in a while and I was excited to hang out with friends and let loose.

Tonight I made my very own pot roast. I came up with the desire when I was clipping coupons and saw a picture of one. It was very simple it just took forever to make. It turned out pretty well and we will have left overs for the next couple of days. Also while clipping coupons I found one for cat treats. Nugget's old treats just expired so I thought it was perfect timing. Well the coupon was a $1 off and when I went to Target I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the treats totaled $1.19. I was able to get cat treats for 19 cents!! Luckly I watch Oprah and one of her guest suggest buying 3 Sunday newspapers because you can get more coupons that way and I can buy two more bags of cat treats for that price. So needless to say Nugget will be spoiled with her treats.

Feeling at home

So this week two very exciting things happened. I got my name tag for work and today I got a little place card with my name on it like the ones you find on fancy office desks. I am very excited. Work is going really well which makes me really happy. Things really do happen for a reason...

When Todd is Away...

So on Sunday Todd went to the library fairly early in the day and after cleaning the whole apartment I was still itching for something to do. I decided that I wanted to make something with the apples that we got at Costco so they wouldn't go bad. I looked and looked on foodnetwork.com and couldn't find anything that I like besides apple pie. The problem was I didn't have a pie tin. So I came up with my own idea. Apple pie cup cakes. It is basically your own personal size apple pie. I think they turned out nicely.
Other than me distracting myself on my days off life has been good. Yesterday was my first day on my own drawer without having someone watch me the whole time which was somewhat liberating. It is supposed to take new people 30 minutes to complete the end of shift tasks but it only takes 10 for some reason. My co-workers are very impressed. I am not that impressed because I am just doing what they told me to do. I haven't made any too major mistakes yet so that is good.

I am really looking forward to the holidays. I want to go to Todd's dad's house soon so we can cut down our own tree and I can start decorating. I am glad that I finally live somewhere where I can decorate how I want not really having to worry about what others think. I care what Todd thinks and all but he is pretty laid back about everything and shares most of my opions or will at least try it my way for a little bit. Anyways that's all for now
